I wish I had the movie too; it's been YEARS since I've seen the Firebird. It would have been so cool to see him in Kingdom Hearts... Uh anyways (sorry about that) this is an astounding picture of him capturing him in all of his glory!
Fantasia 2000 I don't consider it to be a sequel, since its just a bunch of different clips with all different characters. Just like the Pixar shorts dvd, one cannot consider the second shorts DVD as a sequel because it isnt
I loved this movie as a kid. Heck, I still love it. I can just remember my reaction to seeing this shot of the Firebird for the first time.... Somewhere between being absolutely amazed and utterly petrified.
Nature can be terrifying, especially volcanoes. But at the same time, if it weren't for volcanic eruptions then forests wouldn't be able to grow as well as they do. Volcanic ash and soil is full of minerals that enable all kinds of plants to flourish. Amazing how something so destructive can pave the way for something a hundred times more beautiful.
i din't think the fire bird was a villain, i thought of it more as nature taking it's course and in the end if the fire bird hadn't done what it did the forest sprite wouldn't have been able to see both sides of nature and make the beautifull land that she did.

This may sounds strange, but out of every horror movie I have ever seen. This has got to be one of the most fear producing things I have ever seen. I have never been more scared for a character than I have for the forest sprite. Even though I knew she would be find, the idea of a giant creature chasing after such a tiny helpless creature, leaving it with no option other than to run for it's tiny life, destroying everything in its path. I remember I actually screamed out "RUN, SPRITE. RUN!". It really does set off the fight or flight response. XD
I'm working on revising the story mentioned earlier. And I've decided that the "magma bird" in question makes a return appearance later, as the thing which ultimately destroys the series' main antagonist: The Stain. Someone did a painting of the thing for me.
Long time since I last chatted, but I had an idea on a sequel to this story: No humans are involved, but the "magma bird", after having settled on her own planet for a while, develops a feeling of confusion like how MewTwo started out. Then a battle breaks out between the 3 elemental birds (magma: female, ice: male, and air: female), like pokemon 2000. With there being 4 planets which spawned the Earth's basic elements, it takes the power of some Rock-based Lugia creature to settle their predicament.
I'll get around to typing it one of these days. hope you'll like it.
